At 5,987 meters elevation (just below 20,000 feet) the Cotopaxi is the second highest volcano in the country, where on a clear day you can see its perfect cone shape and spot the Illinizas, the Ruminahui, the Guagua Pichincha, Sincolagua and other peaks, during our journey, you can admire the vegetation of the Andean Paramo. 

 We will ascend to 4,600 meters (15,100 feet) from where you have the option of hiking to the Refuge (Base Camp) located at 4,800 meters.(15,748 feet)

Visit Laguna Limpiopungo, a shallow lake at 3,900 meters, this is the habitat for several species of birds, there is a lovely trail for gentle hikes around the lagoon.
